About

Triple Creek Farm

Nestled in a Picture-Perfect Valley, between the Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina.

Triple Creek Farm is located in Canton North Carolina. Canton is nestled in the heart of the Southern Appalachian Mountains on the Pigeon River; just 20 miles west of Asheville. Canton is a historic mill town that is known for its small-town charm and stunning natural scenery.

This region of North Carolina has a long history, beginning with its original inhabitants, Native American tribes.

European Americans began to settle here in the late 1780s, following the American Revolutionary War, United States independence, and gaining cessions of land to the US by the Cherokee. By 1790, farming was established on the banks of the Pigeon River at the site where Canton developed. Around 1815 the first church was built; it was called the Locust Old Field Baptist Church.

Canton was founded in 1889 as “Buford”. Later that same year, the name was changed to “Vinson”. In 1891 the towns name was changed to “Pigeon Ford”, and finally to “Canton” in 1893. The town was named for Canton, Ohio, the source of the steel for the bridge that was built across the Pigeon River.
